About Me
Hello!
I’m Caroline, creator of Hungry Ears.
Having been clinically obese at the age of 10 I know all too well the impact of being overweight. The feeling of sluggishness and inability to enjoy life to the fullest. Not to mention the bullying and low self-esteem.
Throughout my teens I experimented with many restrictive eating plans that focused on cutting out calories, sugar, and fat, and always left me feeling like I was missing out.
As the years went by, so did many failed diets. It occurred to me that achieving a healthy body was not about restriction, which was unsustainable long term, but the inclusion of more colourful fruit and vegetables.
Luckily for me, my parents were up for the challenge. They liked to cook and encouraged me to eat a wide variety of healthy foods.

Trained Nutritionist
With a different mindset, I was able to approach food positively.
When you enjoy fruit and vegetables every day, your body gets the vitamins and minerals it needs to function optimally, and there’s less room for junk.
As I adapted to this way of eating, my energy levels increased, weight fell off and my acne covered skin cleared. Feeling lighter, I enjoyed sport, and my body became fit and strong.
Training as a Nutritionist in my 20s opened up a whole new world where I understood what my body needed, and I wanted to share my passion with others.
For a decade I worked as a therapist in a clinic treating allergies and obesity and witnessing others transform.
My Mission!
Then, when my children were small, I worked for charities that supported early nutrition for babies and children.
Over three decades of personal and professional experience have led me to write the Hungry Ears Food Education series, aiming to teach young children the simple power of fruits and vegetables.
Personally delivering workshops in schools has been the highlight of my career so far. I love engaging with the children—they are such enthusiastic participants. There’s never a dull moment!
It is my wish for every child in the country to enjoy these stories and try the many delicious seasonal fruits and vegetables that grow here in the UK.
